I still don't think I've been able to get Jerelle's form down just right yet, but he's still a work in progress (I've never done hyper-muscle characters before). Here's a concept piece I did after the convention at the Charlotte airport while waiting for my connecting flight home. Pose is kinda off and his legs look funny (I know, I cheated by his tail placement =P ), but there's still more time to work on him.

Pretty cool stuff, dude, though you may want to define his nostrils a bit more in the finished illustration so his face looks more equine and less birdlike.

Heh, yeah he does look pretty young here, doesn't he? =P That's another thing I need practice on, the aged look (in the novel he's well into his 40's)
