Ranger and Combat at home - commission sketch

Here's a commission from , featuring his superheroine Ranger (Kuwanna) and JR Carter's superhero, Combat (Joseph), in civilian attire having a tense conversation at home. Relationships between supers can be just as tough as normal people, unfortunately...

The scene, as described by Train and written by JR:

Kuwanna's living room of her annexed apartment.

A half hour later, Joseph stood at the front door of one of the apartment
annexes at 1545 George Washington Carver Court. A minute after he rang the
doorbell, Kuwanna answered the door.

"Hey," she said.

"Can I come in?" he asked.

"Yes, of course," she replied, stepping aside to let him come in. After
stepping inside, he removed his shoes and walked into the living room,
Kuwanna following closely behind him.

"So, Keith made bail," he said.

"Yeah, how did you..." She then thought about it. "You went after him, didn't
you?"

"I did," Joseph replied.

The bear sow shook her head and said, "Joseph, he's not worth you going to
jail."

"But you are."

Kuwanna then sat down on her couch. Joseph immediately sat right next to her.

"For so long, Keith has made my life Hell. It's because of him that I was
afraid to give my heart to anyone, afraid to get close because I knew what
Keith would do to anyone who got close to me. And it did happen. Maybe Aisha
was right about us."

Joseph replied, "Aisha was just worried and she's not as used to danger as we
are."

"One thing's for sure. Keith isn't going away easily. I'd just like to know
how he got his hands on a million dollars."

"That's something we can deal with another time."

"That's just the thing, Joseph! I'm tired of having to constantly deal with
Keith! I need to deal with him once and for all!"

Joseph then gently placed one hand on Kuwanna's shoulder and another on her
left cheek as he gently turned her head towards him.

"I can't make the bad go away with a wave of my hand," he said. "That's not
one of my superpowers. But, when the bad does come, I'll be right there
beside you."

The two embraced and kissed passionately.

"Thank you, Joseph," Kuwanna whispered.
