My scanner went kaput yesterday; jammed up and now the light bar mechanism thingie has become immobile. The warranty expired nearly ten years ago and I'm not tech-savvy enough to tear open the case to try and tinker with it, though I wouldn't be surprised if the chain pulley mechanism is either worn down or burnt out, too. 'twas a good run, scanner. Years of helping me bring my artwork online and into the digital world. But now, I think it's time to retire. With your last hurrah, you scanned in my full commission load from MFF.
I've ordered a new A3-sized scanner to replace it. Now I won't have to crop my larger sketches anymore!

The frustrating thing, however, is that it'll take about two weeks or so to arrive, and mere moments ago I finished a brand new sketch I'm particularly proud of (which is terrific, because I'd been in an art slump during MFF). I suppose my grandmother's all-in-one might do an okay job as a temporary replacement, but quality leaves much to be desired. Sigh-ee... patience is a virtue.
A3 will be really handy and save me a lot of hassle in the future.
